It has finally been possible to trade Pokémon with friends two years after the release of Pokémon Go, a feature that has been requested by fans since the beginning of the game.
From the release of Pokémon Red and Blue in 1995, trade has been an integral part of the game. However, it has been absent from Pokémon Go.
A new “Friends” feature in the game allows you to connect with other players, and trading is part of the new feature. Due to the addition of trainer battles, you must hire the best lineup.
How To Trade In Pokémon Go
Trading Pokémon Go can’t be done right away. As with most features in the app, it takes some time and effort from the player. You can start trading Pokémon with your friends once you’ve completed the following steps.
Make Some Friends
Finding friends in Pokémon Go is the first step to trading. To enter the Trainer Code for another player, you must find the screen in the game that allows you to enter your Trainer Code.
If you tap on your trainer’s portrait in the bottom-left corner of the screen, you will see a 12-digit code under the Friends tab. You can add a friend by tapping Add Friend under Friends.
Depending on how you want to use your code, you can either share it with others or enter one of theirs. Someone will send you a notification when they add you to their Friends list.
Accepting the invitation is all you need to do. With the other trainer linked, you will be able to view what they are doing in the game.
Grow Your Friendship Circle
You need to increase the level of friendship with your new friends now that you’ve made some. Three methods are available to you for doing so: Trading, raiding, and gym battles. PokéStops sometimes provide you with gifts as you spin the wheel.
While you can’t keep or use them, they can be given to someone on your Friends list. Your friendship with a person increases from Good Friend, Great Friend, Ultra Friend, and Best Friend through gifts you give and receive.
It turns out that even though there are so many levels of friendship, you can only trade Pokémon with someone if you are Good Friends. After one gift is shared between friends, you’re no longer allowed to trade “Mythical” Pokémon like Mew.
Keep Your Stardust Safe
Because trading isn’t free. Stardust is that currency you earn by winning gym battles, completing raids, catching Pokémon, and the like. You can trade Pokémon with anyone based on your friendship level and the type of Pokémon you want.
It costs less to catch Pokémon in your Pokédex (100 Stardust). However, you’ll need to spend much more to catch Shiny Pokémon and Legendary Pokémon, and they have their requirements. By using stardust is another method of how to trade in Pokémon go.
When you increase your friendship level with other people, you pay much less for Stardust for trading (and you enjoy other benefits when you raid and fight gyms together).
If you hope to trade the best Pokémon, put the time in and send those gifts to raise your Friendship level. You can also greatly reduce the cost of certain trades with friends.
Trade
Getting a code from any Pokémon Go trainer anywhere in the world will let you add them to your Friend list. If you want to trade or raid a gym with someone, you need to be near them – the same goes for sending gifts.
By clicking the Friend tab and selecting the person you want to trade with, you can initiate a trade with a friend if you are physically nearby (within 100 meters of them according to Niantic). You can trade with the other person by clicking the button at the bottom-right corner.
Select your Pokémon and the Pokémon Go app will tell you how much you’ll have to pay. In addition, you’ll be able to see the Pokémon’s CP range change when the trade is complete. Trainer level and the level of the person you are trading with effect the range.
So if they are a higher level than you, your super-strong Pokémon will probably get CP lowered – as well as your Friendship level with them. Upon completion of the trade, your new Pokémon will receive a CP level from a range within it.
Besides a new Pokémon, you’ll also receive candy for trading. It depends on where the Pokémon being traded were caught how many candies you receive. If you are more than 100 kilometers (62 miles) away from where the Pokémon was captured, you will receive more candies. Well, I guess we saw every way of how to trade pokemon, so let’s go and do it.
